One-year anniversary of the Equality for All Academic Action Alliance

The Equality for All Academic Action Alliance was launched in July 2025 with the mission to establish a global platform of universities to support equality law reform. This past week, at the 13th Annual Conference of the Berkeley Center on Comparative Equality & Anti-Discrimination Law “Equality and Democracy in Challenging Times” hosted by the University of Viterbo “La Tuscia”, interim board members presented the Alliance and reviewed its progress, impact, and future directions.

Co-Chair Günther Rautz introduced Eurac Research as the Secretariat of the Alliance for the next three years. Various Alliance members presented projects conducted this past year that included supporting UN research on equality law (Sharda School of Law), an E-Lab that engaged students through courses that increased accessibility to equality law materials (University of Tuscia), and a video documenting data collection for the global state-of play on equality law (University of Girona). Alexandra Cosima Budabin was also present at the conference and participated in the interim board meetings to discuss the next steps for building the Alliance.
