A group of university students and minority researchers from the Mathias Corvinus Collegium in Cluj-Napoca / Kolozsvár visited South Tyrol from 27th to 29th April 2022.
In addition to seminars and meetings with our Center for Autonomy Experience around questions of minority protection, the group visited the South Tyrolean Provincial Council, meeting members of the government as well as local student groups. During their stay, particular importance was given to getting to know the South Tyrolean school system: the group met members of the Provincial Government for Ladin Education and Culture as well as representatives of the German and Italian School Board, learning about the importance of multilingualism for South Tyrol. The Hungarian-speaking community is the largest ethnic minority in Romania, consisting of more than one million people, mostly inhabiting the region of Transylvania.
