Round table translating in minority languages

Experts from academia and practice discuss how translating into smaller languages (e.g. Ladin) and language varieties (e.g. South Tyrolean German) differs from translating into major world languages and widely spoken varieties. What role do legal status, language policies, language rights and historical developments play in this context? What contributions can technologies such as machine translation and AI tool make?

The round table is part of the summer school SummerTrans IX  “Human vs machine translation with a focus on legal translation”.
