In early November, Eurac Research will host twenty distinguished fellows from the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Minorities Fellowship Programme. These fellows, who represent national or ethnic, religious, and linguistic minority communities from across the globe, are dedicated advocates for human and minority rights. Their visit marks a significant opportunity to deepen their expertise and strengthen the efforts of their organizations and communities in promoting and protecting the rights of minorities within their respective contexts.
During their stay, the Center for Autonomy Experience and the Institute for Minority Rights will jointly coordinate a rich and immersive program of activities. Hosted at Eurac Research and throughout the surrounding region, the agenda will include a series of lectures, capacity-building trainings, field visits, and interactive sessions designed to foster dialogue, exchange best practices, and explore the unique autonomy arrangements and minority protection frameworks in South Tyrol.
This initiative not only supports the fellows’ professional training in the protection and promotion of minority rights but also reinforces South Tyrol’s role as a hub for international dialogue on minority rights and autonomy governance.
